  • Know who has paid without scrolling the group chat
  • Vote on land, bonds and loans from your phone
  • Wamu never holds your money

Your role in a SACCO

By joining, you agree we can contact you on WhatsApp about Wamu. No spam, ever.

A first look at Wamu

Your group’s savings, who has paid, what’s due and what’s being voted on, all on one screen every member can open.

Early design. Sample data.

Running a SACCO shouldn’t depend on one person’s memory.

Contributions, recorded automatically

Members will pay from their phones and the ledger will update itself. No more screenshots of bank transfers in the group chat.

Decisions everyone can see

Propose an investment or a loan, discuss it, and vote. The result and who approved it stay on record.

Reminders the chair doesn’t have to send

Polite, automatic nudges before payments are due, so nobody has to be the bad guy.

How it will work

  1. Start your SACCO

Set your monthly amount, meeting schedule and who holds which role.

  2. Invite your members

Share one link in your WhatsApp group. Members join in a minute.

  3. Save and decide together

Contribute, vote and track loans, with a statement anyone can download.

Your money stays in your SACCO’s own bank account.

Wamu is designed to keep the records, not the cash. Contributions will go straight to your group’s account through a licensed payment provider, so every member can see every dollar.

Questions

Is Wamu available now?

Not yet. We’re building it now. Join the waitlist and we’ll message you on WhatsApp when it’s ready.

Who is Wamu for?

Ugandan SACCOs, savings groups and investment clubs in the USA, from five friends saving together to associations with hundreds of members.

Will Wamu hold our SACCO’s money?

No. When payments launch, contributions go straight to your SACCO’s own bank account through a licensed payment provider. Wamu keeps the records.

What does it cost?

Groups that join from the waitlist get founding access free while we build Wamu with them.

When does Wamu launch?

We’re onboarding founding SACCOs first. Waitlist members hear first, on WhatsApp.

What does “Wamu” mean?

It’s Luganda for “together.” That’s the whole idea.
